From Waste to Art

Twenty-one artists from 14 countries were invited to this special event in Bhubaneswar in India,

The aim was to create sculptures from waste and scrap metals that will be permanently displayed at the museum that has the theme — reduce, reuse and recycle. It focuses at creating awareness among people on environment, climate change and other environmental issues. The Symposium is an initiative of youth organization Artists Network Promoting Indian Culture (ANPIC) and Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA).

The sculpture "Tiger´s Gate" is paying homage to an animal which is threatened in its existence. Welded together by scrap iron - the waste of humans - the tiger is a symbol of resilience, power and elegance and is embodied in this installation.
