The Digital Paintings were done as part of my 3 month "Artist-in-Residence"-Project at the Silpakorn University in May till July 2009.

My works were inspired by the rich ornamental Heritage of Thailand. The paintings represent a more playful european view on these symbols like the "Cho Fa" or the "Granok".These elements are composed in a lively, almost dancelike manner, which in my eyes represents the high speed of Bangkok urban living. Also the combination of newest technology and looking at Paintlike traditional results in way describes Bangkok as a city where great contrasts are to be found. On one hand 21st Century infrastructure and on the other hand old temple from the 19th or even 18th Century often packed very closely together to deliver an astonishing diverse impression. The works were created digitally using newest technology but getting a very paintlike feeling in the end.Programs like Zbrush and Maya with their3D Technology were used to modell the ornaments and Photoshop to paint and compose the works. The resulting Works reflect a new approach to Painting in the 21st Century utilizing state-of-the-art techniques.
